Privacy notice for testers
Applies while INDEX is being tested, from October 2026.
In short: you're helping us test INDEX before it launches. We use your name and email to give you an account, we keep what you do in the practice club so we can fix problems, and we only look at how you use the app if you say yes. We never sell your data. Email privacy@index.aero to ask for a copy or to have it deleted.
1. Who we are
INDEX is built and run by Cliext Ltd, trading as INDEX, a company registered in Northern Ireland (number NI737239), registered office Unit A, 39 Ballygowan Road, Kells, Ballymena BT42 3PD. We decide how your data is used during testing, and you can reach us at privacy@index.aero.
2. What we collect
- Your account: your name and the email address you were invited with, including any +role versions of it.
- Sign-in and security records: when you sign in, your IP address, device and browser, and any two-factor setup. Sign-in links and codes expire after 10 minutes.
- What you do in the practice club: the bookings, invitations, changes and notes you make. The practice club's other members are invented, so nothing you do touches a real booking.
- Your feedback: anything you send us by email, including screenshots.
- How you use the app, only if you say yes: if you choose Yeah, absolutely when INDEX asks, we see which screens you visit, what you tap, errors you run into and how the app performs, including a replay of your session. Anything you type is masked, and this is linked to an account number, never your name or email. If you choose No thank you, none of this is recorded. You can change your mind any time in Settings › Privacy.
3. Why we use it
To run your account and the test, to keep it secure, and to find and fix problems before INDEX launches. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in testing INDEX properly. For usage analytics, the basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Who else handles it
We may use any of the following providers to run INDEX, though not all are in use at any one time. Each handles your data only on our instructions:
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and file storage | EU (Ireland) |
| Neon | Database, sign-in data and file storage | EU (Frankfurt) |
| Vercel | Running the app | EU (Dublin) |
| Cloudflare | The web address, and running the app | EU (Frankfurt) |
| Scaleway | Sending emails | EU (France) |
| PostHog | Usage analytics, only if you say yes | EU (Frankfurt) |
| Better Stack | Uptime and error monitoring | EU |
Some of these companies are based in the US, so their staff may occasionally access data from there, protected by the standard UK and EU transfer safeguards. We never sell your data and show no advertising.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your testing data while the test runs and delete it, along with your tester accounts, within 30 days of testing ending, unless you go on to use INDEX for real and ask us to keep your account. Usage analytics are deleted at the same point.
6. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent to analytics. Email privacy@index.aero and we'll reply within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
7. Changes
If we change this notice during testing, we'll email you before it takes effect. When INDEX launches, a full privacy policy will replace this one.
